When I first saw the ” Vintage labels” set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with these stamps. I had already begun playing with ribbon weaving using the 1/4 ” grosgrain ribbon. These patterns actually came from a quilting book. I wanted more elegance than a casual look so stuck to my favourite colour combo of black and white. All greetings were stamped inside the frames with the aid of a stamp a ma jig. All frames were attached using dimensionals.
The first card is doing the basic weaving that was taught in primary school. I stamped the round medallion and then cut around it.

With this card I stamped the curly label frame and trimmed off the outer frame. I then punched out a black piece of card using the curly label punch. The stamped frame was attached to the punched frame.

The wide oval frame was used on the following card.

A third colour was added to the weaving – real red. The scallop medallion was cut out and then layered onto a white scallop punched circle.
With the final card black gingham ribbon replaced the white ribbon.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some different types of ribbon weaving, yes it is time consuming but I had fun doing it.
Well, that’s all from me. Now you’re off to enjoy the wonderful creations of Ruth. Thanks for stopping by!
cheers
Rob

Wow amazing ribbon weaving, I’ve never seen anything like it. Very simple but elegant look with the black and white (and red!) but beautiful effects.
Very effective ribbon weaving! I think my favourite is the last one. So striking!
wow wow wow that weaving is amazing : )
Wow Robyn. Can’t even imagine the time you took to make these but they are amazing. I have a friend is mad on Motor Racing and I can see the first one being used as the checkered flag for her birthday card. Awesome.
Incredible Rob! You’ve put so much work into these and it has paid off in spades, they are truly amazing. Fantastic job.
Very effective Robyn, what a great job on all your cards.
I love them Robyn. Great ribbon weaving. It must have taken you ages, but they all look fantastic.
